Pet fashion designer, Anthony Rubio, is not new to catwalks. His luxury dog collection, Couture, is accompanies at fashion shows by beautiful, charming women in luxurious clothing. And the guests cannot take it all in; the favourite pets parade along dressed in incredibly detailed, embellished outfits, which are sometimes coordinated with the attire of the fashion models, too, who walk them along on a lead or carry them in their arms.

The inspiration for the SS 2018 collection was derived from his adventurous trip in Greece
The luxurious and stunning colours, water in the Aegean Sea, artistic tiles and beautiful nature. All this enthused Anthony during his three-week trip to the beauty spots of Greece; he then incorporated his impressions into the beautiful and fantastically detailed collection of SS 2018. The show was opened up by luxurious varied colours that were not only on the clothes of the dogs, but also on those of the beautiful models. These were all mutually complementary in perfect harmony.

It is true that many of the luxury fashion houses today make beautiful collection for dogs, but we have never seen anything so splendid as the creations of Anthony. Dog owners may already have become accustomed to dress their pets, but only into simple sets. Luxurious designer couture collections are perhaps more appropriate for royal dogs, worthy of such attire. However, at fashion shows of Anthony there most often appear dogs from dog shelters with which the designer cooperates. Therefore it is only a matter of opinion. Do you want your dog to wear a luxurious flowery outfit or do you prefer a lightweight jacket?

Like the childish whims of Marie Antoinetta
I think that the fashion designer Anthony Rubio is a little crazy. Yes, do dress a chi-hua-hua that gets chills all year round is certainly okay. But the moment when I saw a giant Leonberger in a sparkly model, I almost wept. Yes, fashion for dogs can be playful, but beware of animal abuse!
So when I leave out the bigger breeds, the most attractive dog model was the one with a top hat. While it looks as if from a circus, it reminds me a bit of the childish whims of Marie Antoinetta when she became bored and started to "fine tune" her four-legged companions. Incidentally the long glitzy dress worn by the model, was beautiful to look at, too.
In spite of all this, I do not know of a single social event or place (except the circus chapiteau), where such doggy models would be fit for the occasion. I clearly opt for a more natural look and if you need a dress then I prefer a classic one with a bit of shearling by Kentucky.
