One thing is for sure: this job never gets boring. Kayla, 27, is not only a dancer, model and singer, but also a professional hemp expert. For real. She's become one of the eight people out of a total of 25,000 candidates who have applied for this “job” of dreams. AHLOT, a cannabis distribution company, is paying $ 50 an hour, which is almost CZK 1,200, to the eight members of its Committee for the Treatment of Cannabis for tasting some of the best cannabis strains in Canada. Monthly, Kayla earns up to $ 1,000 for a couple of hours of smoking, which is 23,000 crowns. That's a pretty solid extra income, wouldn't you say?
Kayla Gerber wasn't very hopeful when she applied for this job. When she got the call saying she had the job, she literally danced for joy.
“It was a job that seemed too good to be true. I felt like I'd won the American Idol singing contest,"
Kayla said for an American newspaper. In addition to completing a questionnaire each time she's tested a sample of marijuana, she also uses social networks to provide information, write reviews, or make videos about the smell, strength and taste of cannabis. Another part of her job is to evaluate the effect of marijuana on the body and mind. She records the changes in her mood, appetite or level of energy. She works around 17 - 20 hours a month.

She discovered marijuana due to illness
At the age of ten, Kayla was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a chronic, generalized pain that prevents patients from performing routine activities. For a long time she had been trying to find relief in various meds until she first discovered the benefits of marijuana at the age of 15.

“I had been using cannabis recreationally before, but I never realized how much it was helping me, especially from a medical point of view. My illness brought me all the way here,”
said Kayla, who has been a marijuana promoter and user for many years. The difference is that now she's getting paid for it.
It seems that the time of buying from unknown dealers in worn out jeans is long gone, and maybe one day, we'll be able to simply call the "pros" who'll help us with choosing the best smoking material even here in the Czech Republic.
