Talented designer Vanda Janda was one of the last to present her creations at this year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. As per usual, Vanda's FW20-SS21 collection, inspired by the divas that had affected her life, didn't disappoint us! Shall we have a look together at her most interesting pieces?

It's said that black is a timeless classic. But who would want to wear black, when they can have a bright purple, especially if it comes in the form of tight bell bottoms? Vanda Janda is a diva with her body and soul and her fashion show was yet another proof of that. Oversized short jackets, feathers and wild colors. What more could you want?!

In the creative process, Vanda was inspired by her grandmother, whom she also dedicated the collection.

"I drew inspiration from the most beautiful moments in her life at the Baltic Sea. Another source of inspiration were the silhouettes, which she wore all her life,"
the young designer shared with LP-life.cz. That means a lot of shoulder pads, wide pants and vibrant colors. As far as materials are concerned, she opted for wool, cashmere or silk. Vanda pulled off a collection that's playful, entertaining, and I really, really enjoy it.
Look out, here comes the queen!
Who'd want to be a gray mouse when they can wear a pastel colored dress with feathers and feel like a Beyoncé-style queen? Nobody, it seems, because pretty much every woman in the hall was fascinated by this utterly original, yet at the same time elegant dress. And who could blame them?

Purple haze
Can a business ensemble be every woman's dream? Vanda Janda proves it totally can!
I can't decide what I love more about this piece. Is it the bright purple color, the great cut of the pants, or the fact that it goes against all the practical purposes ensembles are typically made for and reveals the belly? Be that as it may, all I can say to this model is an enthusiastic "yes".

Some models from Vanda's collection are impossible to forget, yet others seemed to me rather uninspiring in the context of the entire fashion show. Maybe it's because the bar was really high, maybe I'm simply unable to appreciate anything that can't be spotted from the distance of at least fifty meters due to its bold color. In any case, I did find the combination of a jacket, a swimsuit, high-heeled shoes and long legs interesting, but rather than anything else, it gave me an inferiority complex without being particularly appealing.

Nothing for whales here
Yes, she is young and talented, no doubts about that. But the problem with Vanda Janda is that she makes clothes only for girls up to size 34. I get it, she's never been overweight herself, but that renders it pointless for girls like me - the so-called whales - to even look at her collection. Which is a pity...
At first glance, I thought - great, I'll finally choose something. It's neither dull and boring, nor do the colors and cuts hurt my eyes. However, on closer inspection, you discover that when you're lucky enough to find something with a flattering color shade, the cut sends you right back to where you were before - to the bottom of your closet, with your ego sinking lower than Hell itself.
Show your love handles!
Not everyone has a six pack or the sunken belly of a bulimic. These jackets would have been absolutely charming, but they're simply too short for us ladies of size 38 or more. Not only would we not feel sexy in these by default, but we'd also inspire laughter or tears - or both.
But when I look around while walking through the streets of Prague, short tops seem to be very much in fashion and today's young girls don't give a damn whether they're morbidly obese or not... In any case, my grandmother always told me that one's navel and back must always remain hidden, otherwise one would end up spending all their money on a physiotherapist rather than on new garments - and she was right!

Illusory wasp waist
Yes, I could opt for a jacket that would make my waist look slimmer, but I fear people could then mistake me for a shop window mannequin. That's the impression this take on elegance gives me. On the other hand, the shoulders are well-padded, so I could serve as a pillow to any homeless person who needed to take a nap on the tram.

Who wants to look like a mangy goose?
This dress, though! This dress is really gorgeous. And you can hide anything underneath, be it rolls of fat or hemorrhoids. But on closer inspection, I found out that the feathers may be aesthetically beautiful, but they'll probably begin to fall off after one wear. And who'd enjoy looking like a mangy goose?
