Fabergé eggs have been attracting the most important and richest collectors of the 20th and 21st century. These are one of the most precious and most desirable objects that have ever been made. The history of these unique jewels may be read in an article HERE: Luxurious Easter eggs of the Russian imperial court.

However, we live in the present and just now the light of the day was seen by another luxurious egg!

For the first time in its entire history the mascot of the luxury car manufacturer, Rolls-Royce, is encased in a beautiful and luxury packaging, a Febergé egg. The design was conceived by designer Stefan Monro and Alex Innes of Rolls-Royce.

A luxurious jewel of the highest class

The Spirit of Ecstasy Fabergé Egg is the second Fabergé egg to have been included into the Imperial Class category since 1917. It is reserved only for the most famous Fabergé creations! It celebrates history, heritage and legends for which both brands have been honoured for more than 100 years.

It is a masterpiece, created by a team of seven Fabergé craftsmen, who accepted the challenge of forging a design using only the best-quality materials. The design features from the Fabergé heritage are masterly incorporated into a complex design. The egg is 160 mm high, weighs just 400g and of course employs the element of surprise and delight for which the imperial eggs have always been celebrated.

Let´s have a closer look at this miracle.

The Spirit of Ecstasy Fabergé Egg stands on a hand-engraved, purple enamel guilloché base of 18 carat white gold. Upon operating the movement via a discreet lever at the base of the stand, a sense of theatre ensues as the boughs open to present the fine figurine of the Spirit of Ecstasy, hand-sculpted in frosted rock crystal. The “petals” are made of rose gold, embellished with nearly 10 carats of white diamonds, set into natural amethysts weighing over 390 carats. The egg is a result of two years of work.

This splendid work of art was presented on 23 October in the House of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood and throughout the Christmas time it will be exhibited to the public at the London seat of Fabergé.
