The roof of Africa - Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is not one mountain but comprises of three volcanic peaks - Shira, Mawenzi and Kibo. The peak of the Kibo volcano is the highest and is called Uhuru - Peak of freedom. It reaches the height of 5,895 metres and is the very place where you will finish if you wish to climb Kilimanjaro.

Despite its considerable height it is possible to reach the summit without any climbing equipment or experience. How to go about it? Set off to exotic Tanzania as part of your luxury adventure holiday!

If you're dreaming about this amazing several-day climb, do not delay any longer! Nature and the human factor are unpredictable. In a few decades the peaks of Kilimanjaro will probably not be covered in luxurious, pure-white snow any more. The glacier is melting away as a result of global warming. It is also possible that the edge parts of the volcano will cave in, as in the case of the Ngorongoro crater. In this case it is assumed that the peak had reached only around 3,500 metres above sea level.

The mysterious beauty of Kilimanjaro

Everyone who has ever seen Kilimanjaro, talks about its breathtaking beauty. But it is not a matter of course that you will see the mountain even when you stand directly in front of it. It is often covered by thick clouds. But if Kilimanjaro suddenly appears between the clouds, it is an extraordinary experience sending shivers down your spine... It is most beautiful at sunrise and sunset and the majestic beauty of this mountain will remain forever engraved in your memory.

One of the easiest mountain climbs

The summit was first conquered on 6th October 1889 by an Austrian, Hans Mayer. There are six main routes to the top, of different levels of difficulty. The climb should not be shorter than five days and it is always better to organise it from your home country rather than on the spot. This is because you could pay more and gain less. 12 days and 9 nights in Tanzania with the Kilimanjaro expedition and visiting of other local beauty spots will cost you approximately CZK66,000 - CZK70,000 and the price includes all fees, food during the climb, which is taken care of by a catering team, flight ticket as well as luxurious accommodation.

The most appropriate time for the climb is the period from January to March, September and October.
