The doors will soon close on the 21st year of the unique Strings of Autumn music festival. The imaginary doorknob will be turned by Herbie Hancock, jazz star and piano genius.
This year’s Strings of Autumn festival has been a major success, presenting exceptional artists from around the world and offering Czech audiences unforgettable musical experiences. There is one more concert in store, which lovers of jazz melodies are particularly eager about. The legendary Herbie Hancock accepted the invitation to come to Prague!
Herbie Hancock is a name renowned not just among jazz lovers. He is a musical artist whose music appeals to people and interpreters who like other styles, such as R&B or electronic jazz.
Herbie Hancock will play on 9 November at Forum Karlín. He will take the stage along with James Genus on bass, Trevor Lawrence Jr. on drums and luxurious saxophonist, producer and composer Terrace Martin.
Herbie Hancock is a fourteen-time Grammy Award winner. He started with music very early in life, and his exceptional musical talent was discovered as a child while playing the piano. He took up jazz in high school, and in 1962 Miles Davis invited him to his second legendary quintet.
He then founded his own band called the Headhunters. In 1983, Herbie Hancock astounded the musical world with his platinum album Future Shock. The single Rockit literally shook the world of music at the time and Herbie won a luxurious Grammy Award for it. In 1986 was won an Oscar for the soundtrack to Round Midnight, in which he also acted.
