Vivienne Westwood is one of the most distinctive designers of luxury fashion in the world. Her works contains historic references, techniques and also fabrics, which create unique, seductive, sexy and provocative fashion. I am sure you remember the beautiful deluxe dress by Vivienne Westwood that Carrie Bradshaw wore in the film Sex And The City. Everyone was amazed. But you won’t find a dress like that in the designer’s new collection. Vivienne has always wanted to be different from the others and she has succeeded very well in her SS 19 wedding dress collection. But not every woman will like it.
Asymmetry, ruffles, feathers and modern red
Andreas Kronthaler and Vivienne Westwood have created an unbelievable collection, not one millimetre of which resembles a wedding dress. . The materials used include light pure fabrics, lace and chiffon. Forget about a princess dress and get ready for an unusual pleated overall, asymmetrical dresses with ruffles revealing the legs, dresses with deluxe fine feathers, a corset embellished with flowers with a midi skirt and various imaginative ruffled or lacy creations. Old-fashioned hats, baseball caps, head scarves and red chiffon embellishments are an unusual accessory.
Old-fashioned style
Some modern brides may not be afraid to wear some of these dresses, but I must say that some of the items seem very old-fashioned. Some models remind us of ancient underwear or deluxe clothing for servants or cooks. Maybe Vivienne intended this resemblance. She has always sought inspiration in history.

Every bride has a different personality and is basically unique. I can see from various fashion designers that classic A-line whipped cream dresses are a thing of the past (at least in the world of crazy fashion maniacs....). The wilder the creation the better! But will a normal girl from the crowd be able to choose something here?
The first item I must mention is the wedding dress that looks like it was made for XENA the warrior princes. Yes, the one with the metal armour and the hood over the head. OK Vivienne probably teleported herself to the medieval period using some mushrooms, but so what? Its certainly entertaining. You can also find a wedding dress for a nun in her collection! This is probably intended for brides with a specific sexual perversion such as forbidden church sex. My God, I’m laughing my head off!
But I don’t just want to be spiteful, there is a dress that could possibly be worn to the Town Hall on Staroměstksé náměstí. And this is the dress with a corset and a shorter, very puffy skirt with the lace-up shoes. The dress looks a little like Marie Therese’s underwear from the year zilch, but so what? ....At least it bears a slight resemblance to a classic wedding dress.
