It has been three years since the company Rodarte, offering luxury dresses moved its show from the New York Fashion Week to Paris. Today, however, the luxury fashion house has facilities in Los Angeles and is just coming back to beloved New York. Designers Kate and Laura Lulleavy published this excellent report in one Instagram competition. Together with their team they are looking forward to show what will the SS 19 collection be like.
At the beginning of last year when sisters and designers Rodarte Kate and Laura Mulleavy announced that they are to end their presence at New York Fashion Week, there was a general grievance. Their gowns have always brought luxury elegance to New York, of which women dream. But now New York rejoices again because Rodarte is to hit NYFW to introduce the collection for the SS 19 season. And there really is something to look forward to!
There are many fashion designers and brands which present luxury irresistible gowns and the Rodarte brand is clearly among them. Although it is not very well known in this country, it would be a pity not to mention it. Tulle gowns, luxury embellishments, detailing, embroidery - all this describes the creation of the two talented designers well. We like that perhaps every type of a woman would be able to make her choice here. They are elegant, refined, sexy, romantic, luxurious and certainly uncommon. The collections are always one big surprise.
The Rodarte brand was founded by two designers - sisters, in Los Angeles according to the Spanish maiden name of their mother. Currently it belong among very respected brands, beloved by women throughout the world. It is no wonder that their luxurious designer gowns are work by international film icons such as Kate Blanchette, Natalie Portman, Selena Gomez and other popular beauties.
Firstly, I have to admit that I hear about Rodarte for the first time. All the more I paid attention to detail and details of the clothes.
Some of those white ones with giant frills resemble Madonna´s video clip from 1984 "Like a virgin". Although I don´t understand this retro link, because I am not a retro aficionado myself. So, in my opinion quite a boring copycat.
However, when I started to lose attention, up came a model that really was something special. A jacket of salmon-black ostrich feathers, greatly transparent black tulle skirt and stylish boots a bit in cowboy style. Yes, I know, crazy...but to wear it to some fashion show or fashion week - an ideal choice!
