Richard Hutten was born in the Netherlands in 1967 and in 1991 he graduated from the Academy of Design in Eindhoven. The same year he established his own studio in which he creates designs of interiors and luxurious residential accessories. Many of his pieces found their place in more than 40 prestigious museums around the world (such as the MoMA New York, Victoria & Albert Museum London, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Design Museum London).

Droog Design and Gispen Hollands join forces to create luxury work

Richard Hutten is one of the members of Droog, a conceptual Dutch design company that works with individual designers, inter alia also on the carrying out of product projects and exhibitions. In Dutch, "Droog" means "dry", a word representing the dry humour of the design of the various articles. Droog Design was established in 1993, now has its head office in Amsterdam, a store in Soho in New York; among other places, Droog Design exhibited also in the luxurious Museum of Arts & Design in New York; and in 2004 a book was published, Simply Droog: 10+1 years of innovations and discussions.

Since 2008 Richard Hutten has been art director of Gispen, which is the second largest and most famous brand of luxury design furniture with an almost hundred-year-old history.

The bridge connects two parts of the popular amusement park Royal Gorge Bridge & Park and entry is permitted only if the park is opened. The steel base is covered with nearly 1300 wooden planks. A passenger vehicle may still drive through the bridge, but buses or lorries are prevented from access. The bridge was built during 6 months in 1929 and cost USD 350,000.

Entertainment filled to the brim with adrenalin

Royal Gorge is a 10-mile long canyon, formed by the river Arkansas for three million years. And as has been found, the depth of the canyon is increasing still by about one foot every 2500 years. Those who do not really love heights, will certainly not seek out a walk along this bridge. For all other, however, this is a luxurious experience, sending shivers down your spine!

The unique bridge is however not all that will delight adrenaline lovers. Right next to it stands a funicular railway. In 2015 brand new cabins were commissioned, from which you can explore the luxurious heights.

For those who long for a really stunning experience, there is also a zipline, which will swing you from one side of the canyon to the other before you know it. And while we are on the subject of swings, how about a giant one, where your heart will pop up somewhere near your throat for a bit?

In 2013 the park was damaged by fire, but everything has already been repaired and since 2014 it again welcomes all those who want to overcome their own limitations.
