Luxurious parfume Opium

The luxury perfume that was prohibited!

It was 1977 and the tale of the legendary Opium perfume was in its beginnings. The perfume was created at the initiative of Yves Saint Laurent, the designer of the “King of Fashion” Time Magazine. It is interesting that this iconic perfume was prohibited in Australia and also in the Middle East due to its name, which evoked the drug. However, the truth is completely different. Yves Saint Laurent chose the name “Opium” to symbolise an addiction to life, love and passion, which can connect two people at first glance.

What is at its “heart”?

It will surprise you with its sensual tones of mandarin, it combines the floral middle notes of jasmine and miniature carnation, with a base containing amber and patchouli.

The luxury perfume soon achieved great success worldwide, particularly in France, where sales reached unexpected numbers.

The luxurious “cover” of Opium

The flacon shape appears bold. The opaque red varnish with the glass window, through which you can catch a “glimpse” of the perfume inside, evokes a flash of mysteriousness. The bottle for Opium perfume is inspired by the small Japanese lacquer boxes called inrō. The proudly distinctive red silk tassel with a bead brings a touch of design. An anniversary edition, with a gold surface and in very limited numbers, has been available from the beginning of November. You should hurry so you don’t miss it.

Which charismatic women have encountered the Opium perfume?

Celebrities who have been the faces of this luxury well-known perfume have included Jerry Hall, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss and recently also Emily Blunt.
