Grébovka

Space not only for housing

You do not necessarily have to live in Grébovka, you can just go for a walk to the park, Havlíček´s sady, which is dubbed "Grébovka". Is it called after the famous Grébovka villa in Prague 2, built for a Prague industrialist, Moritz Gröbe? This name conceals as much greenery, as can possibly be offered by an English-style park. In the centre of the well-kept park, which boasts of 120 species of trees (often of exotic origin) and various paths are also found interesting architectural treasures.

A lovely walk in Grébovka

The entire complex encompasses a famous villa, a Pavilion, Vineyard with a summer house, a Grotto (artificial stalactical cave), farmhouses Upper and Lower Landhauska. In the 21st century, a wine cellar and a playground were added. A luxurious list of what a visitor may visit; what can enrich him. Not only a rest, a pleasant relaxation, but also an experience of culture and stimulus for the senses.

We will start with the Pavilion, which is located in the upper part of the complex, having been built in the 1970s. It originally served as a period games room, containing a bowling alley and a chess club. After refurbishment, which accentuated its luxurious wall paintings from the 19th century, a café with outdoor seating was opened for the public.

The vineyard and its summer house

The first mention of a vineyard falls into the middle of the 14th century, when the sunny hillside was used by Charles IV, creating here a vineyard with French vines. Currently the vineyard products may be tasted by visitors at the annual grapes harvest or in the beautiful vineyard summer house with oriental construction elements. It is a dominant, protected property.

In each annual period this spot of Prague will hold a surprise for you. We are immensely grateful to Moritz Gröbe for an investment from which inspiration is drawn by generations of visitors. He provided this luxury not only to himself but to us also.
