Výstaviště Holešovice

Speaking briefly, there is definitely life in Holešovice!

What is it that makes Holešovice today such a popular area? It represents a dream location especially for younger people. You can visit many modern bars there, together with stylish cafes and restaurants that are offering the world’s best cuisine and many other cultural and artistic venues: e.g. The La Fabrika Theatre, The DOX Centre of Contemporary Art, The Cryptoanarchy Institute of Parallel Polis.

Regular farm and design markets take place in the Holešovice Market area and the traditional cultural centres also comprise the Exhibition Grounds and the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery in Prague.

Unpleasant fumes from factories have been replaced by the aromas from the stylish restaurants

In the quarter where the slaughterhouse was formerly located, where you could walked through uninviting corners and breath the unpleasant smells of many local factories, people from other Prague districts are now meeting for unique cultural projects and to visit stylish luxurious venues.

Modern flats close to the water: Holešovice means luxury!

And it is not just the culture and the entertainment that is thriving there. Every new free space in this lively quarter is now occupied by new flats and office spaces. The brewery ceased to function in 1998 while today offices, shops and housing units are located there. In the direction from Libeň, the main dominant feature of the quarter is the high-rise Lighthouse building dating from the beginning of the 21st Century and the older high-rise Kovo building. The area by the river is now occupied by the luxurious Prague Marina apartment houses, to which your luxurious houseboat can be anchored.

Holešovice also boasts about its luxurious green parks: while on one side the quarter is surrounded by the stunning Stromovka Park, which at this time is also undergoing a significant revitalisation, and on the other side there is Letná, which offers one of the most beautiful views of Prague.

Holešovice simply beats a modern life rhythm and every inhabitant of Prague longs to be a part of it at least for a while.

Mánesova ulice

Beautiful historical houses, streets lined with trees, lots of cultural opportunities and all of this a stone’s throw from the centre of Prague: this is Královské Vinohrady. The green park Riegrovy sady is lined on the one side by Polská ulice and right behind this is the luxury Mánesova ulice. In just a few minutes, you can reach the National Museum from here, Wenceslas Square or the main railway station, but also the greenery in one of Prague’s most popular parks: Riegrovy sady.

Life in one of the most beautiful streets in Prague

Mánesova ulice is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Prague. Renovated old houses can be found here, there are a lot of luxurious and stylish restaurants, bars, cafés and tea rooms to visit. Kaaba is for example definitely worth a visit, with a luxury interior in a Brussels style.

The street starts at náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad with its dominant feature, the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord and ends at the crossroads with Španělská behind the National Museum.

Luxury architecture and housing virtually in the centre

There are a lot of remarkable buildings on Mánesova. In the upper part (nearer to náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad) the houses tend rather to be late geometric Art Nouveau in style, designed by Josef Kovařovič or Bohuslav Homoláč. On the contrary, the lower part of the street is full of neo-Renaissance buildings dating back to the end of the 19th century. Some spacious flats have luxury balconies and represent the ideal form of housing for people of all ages. You will find here peace and quiet as well as all the conveniences of a big city in the immediate vicinity.

Interesting buildings here also include the Sokol hall in Riegrovy sady designed by František Marek, or Gočár’s “House of Agricultural Education” on Slezská ulice. Not far away is the Vinohrady Theatre offering high quality cultural experiences, the luxury Aromi restaurant or the Royal cabaret theatre.

Life on Mánesova is a dream for many people. Just go and have a look and make up your own mind!
