Global fashion brand Louis Vuitton has again teamed up with one of the most famous artists of the day, Jeff Koons. It is the second time, and once again a unique collection of luxury handbags and accessories celebrating the great masters of art has been created: Masters. It will be available from 27 October.
Do you love famous paintings by old masters? Thanks to the collaboration between the Louis Vuitton fashion house and artist Jeff Koons, you can reveal your admiration of luxury arts through unique handbags featuring the motifs of famous paintings.
You will find the following motifs on the luxury handbags, which are available from 27 October: Reclining Girl by François Boucher; Delightful Land by Paul Gauguin, Luncheon on the Grass by Edouard Manet, Water Lilies by Claude Monet, The Triumph of Pan by Nicolas Poussin (exclusively at Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme) and Ancient Rome by J. m. W. Turner.
Like this first collection, this second one is also underscored by the famous Louis Vuitton Monogram, which is inside the handbag. Each piece also boasts the typical motif of Koons’s work – an inflated bunny. Inside is the biography and a portrait of the old master, whose work is featured on the luxurious handbag. This unique collective project is evidence of a strong artistic gesture, which can tastefully and elegantly combine a historical work with the modern world.
However, it is not the only collaboration of this famous fashion brand. Louis Vuitton often cooperates with pioneers and leading contemporary artists, such as Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama and Cindy Sherman.
With these projects, Louis Vuitton brings luxury art into the public space, onto catwalks, and becomes a patron and curator. Since 2014, the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris has also served as a unique museum of arts.
