Aspen: a place frequented by the rich and famous
Skiing, snowboarding and other entertainment
Aspen is a global quality resort and you would find it hard to choose a more renowned location. Skiing conditions are ideal here from November until April. There are four main mountain ranges - Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain. The various inclines of the slopes thus offer terrain to suit everyone – beginners, advanced skiers and even children. If you want your children aged 7 to 17 to learn to ski, you can enrol them in the Aspen! Ski & Snowboard School. Children under the age of six can learn to ski free of charge or enjoy other activities with their parents such as bobsledding, riding a snowmobile or taking a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the town.
Hotel St. Regis
The luxury St. Regis Aspen Resort hotel is located at the foot of Aspen Mountain and thus offers not only proximity to the slopes, but also to the mountain town. This traditional mountain accommodation with a hint of luxury fits right in to the local mountain surroundings. Within reach, you have ski slopes and shops, restaurants and entertainment in the centre. The resort is only ten minutes from the airport (you can order a private limousine with a driver), eight minutes from the golf course and it is about 20 minutes to the other mountain resorts, where you can enjoy wonderful views into the distance. The luxury spa in the hotel, outdoor heated whirlpool baths, massages and saunas or evening yoga class will prepare you for your next demanding day on the slopes.
Activities off the slopes
Other than winter sporting activities, there is a rich cultural programme here including musical events such as a jazz festival and Christmas concerts. For its younger guests, Hotel St. Regis organises children’s activities such as baking gingerbread or art courses. Adults can set out to enjoy the nightlife in the mountain town or enjoy the winter atmosphere in front of the fireplace with a hot drink.
