You may have already heard of the successful reality show Next in Fashion - if not, you will probably hear about it soon. This contest, in which talented designers from all over the world compete for $ 250,000 and the chance to make a name for themselves in the world of fashion, has become very popular abroad, and it's also beginning to conquer the Czech Republic. The winner of this year's first season, Minju Kim, not only became better known in the public eye, but also got the opportunity to offer her winning collection on the popular Net-a-Porter portal, where one can find the most luxurious fashion brands. But who is this Minju Kim?
Pocket money for the start of a luxury career
A talented designer born in Gwangju, South Korea, she is no newcomer to the fashion world. She made herself known for the first time in 2013, when she became the winner of the H&M design award. Two years later, she founded her own company based in Seoul and became known to the public thanks to her women's collections full of distinctive prints. But the opportunity to offer her clothes on Net-a-Porter has come to her only recently thanks to her victory in Next in Fashion and a generous contribution of a quarter of a million dollars.

At the eleventh hour
Looking at her success today, it's hard to believe that in the past, Minju Kim wanted to go in a completely different direction… Originally, she wanted to be a cartoonist. Thanks to the influence and support of her parents, she eventually decided to study fashion design in Seoul and successfully graduated from the Samsung Art & Design Institute and later from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
This is how she won over the audience and the jury
Since the first episode, the introverted Kim has won over both the audience and the jury composed of, among others, model, designer and writer Alexy Chung and fashion designer Tana France with her humor and, above all, her humility. She herself entered the competition to take her work to the next level and, above all, to get feedback from real experts. Judging by the result of the whole show, they fell in love with her work and we have no doubt that we'll hear a lot more about this talented designer from across the globe…
