Do you belong to those people who, when a new year begins, always decide to start exercising, get a gym membership and, in less than a month, start making excuses that they have no time, are busy at work and now, for a change, that: "We're quarantined, everything's closed due to the coronavirus!"? Those who kick themselves into home workouts rely on various applications or online videos. But at home, people often lack the necessary motivation. That's why designer Yves Behar came up with the idea of combining home exercise and professional services, which typically belong to the advantages of fitness centers. He developed a mirror that hides a gym inside.

Let's be honest here... How many times have you "inconspicuously" lowered your effort during a home workout or flunked the exercise a little? Or perhaps you don't work out at home at all, because you simply don't know how to do it properly. More often than not, we need supervision and the firm hand of an instructor to guide us. And we could go on making excuses indefinitely...

Now, this might sound to you like something out of a sci-fi movie, but imagine that a mirror is watching over you during exercise. Of course, it's not just any old mirror in which you casually check your make-up or if those two extra pounds you've gained after Christmas make you look fat... This mirror came from the workshop of designer Yves Behar and offers personal fitness trainings.

"Our philosophy was to create a fitness machine that is fully integrated into the house without being visible at first glance,"

Behar reported in the media. The miracle mirror, known under the name Forme Life, features accessories such as ankle straps, rope handles, motion sensors and a heart rate monitor.

The mirror is designed so that the exercise adapts to your abilities, fitness goals or mood. Thanks to the trainers in the mirror, you can improve your technique day by day. The author's vision is that even a complete layman should be able to do the exercises correctly. Thanks to the incorporated sensors, the mirror can give specific instructions and also very accurately communicate errors during exercise.

The magical mirror offers a choice from several exercise programs and its owners can decide whether they want to train endurance, practice yoga or go for strength training, stretching, dancing or meditation.

"Forme Life offers many programs to choose from, so there's absolutely no chance you'll get bored any time soon. You can individualize your training and the whole family can join,"

said the designer.

Excess or the future of exercise?

The sale of the mirror gym should start in the autumn of this year. The price is estimated at around six thousand US dollars, which is about one hundred and fifty thousand crowns. Only time can tell how the the first owners will like the mirror if the this home gym will see any further development. Now that pretty much the whole world has experienced what it's like to break all social contacts for a while and not to be able to go for a run without a face mask, we might yet appreciate the good old crowded gym with a strict personal trainer made of flesh and bones, once everything returns to normal.
