ON FORUM: China has not learned! Animal markets are reopening in appalling conditions!

The Chinese believe in a lot of weird things. Such as in the ability of powder from the rhinoceros' horn to cure cancer and impotence. Alright, traditional Chinese medicine can do wonders, but not miracles.

If you haven't yet seen the video from the disgusting animal market, where dogs, cats, snakes, scorpions, bats and other animals, whether alive or dead (read grilled) are kept in one place, waiting to be bought and eaten, you can call yourself lucky. It can traumatize people from our part of the world for life. After all, we're a nation of dog owners who love animals more than humans. When the video capturing a walk through an animal market where nobody seems to have heard the word hygiene was released, most of our nation hugged their pet tight.

Pearls before swine

Asians like animals too, of course, but they prefer them on the plate. Or in their tummy. As the saying goes: word to the wise. Because of the pandemic, everything was closed or banned in China. The regulation required them to stay at home. By the time the epicenter of the contagion reached Europe and later the USA, the disease was long past its peak in Asia and China began to report to the world that it had beaten the contagion; that there were no new dead or infected, and if, then only a couple. Only God knows if there's any truth in that, but in any case, China has begun to return to normal life.

People could finally go back to work and to the streets. Slowly but surely, this overpopulated continent is starting to live again, or at least waking up to life, while the rest of the world is fighting the disease by all possible means and regulations. And what happens next? Yes, you got it right. They've reopened those messed up animal markets where the virus had probably mutated?! And even though the law forbids it, bats for a delicious soup are being sold again.

BBC and CNN broadcasters report to the world that the Chinese carry on on as if nothing has happened - the coronavirus is now a problem in the world, not in their country. How fast they've forgetten, huh? The whole world is shaking its head over this nation. Despite being one of the most advanced countries in the world, China has some strange traditions and a peculiar mindset that seems obscure to the rest of the world. To make things clear, we're not trying to take away anyone's culture or slander their God, but is really necessary to have markets full of animals stuffed in small cages in their own blood and feces? You really can't live without that? Why don't you just start selling something else?

A bill for China

Because of this pile of crap, by which I mean the animal market, the whole world is suffering. There are people dying - our loved ones, healthcare workers, firefighters and so on. But that's not all; we're also suffering on the social level, because everything is closed and we are stuck at home at home, but mainly on the economical level. This will affects the majority of countries for a very long time. I keep wondering just how surprised the Chinese would be, if the governments of all countries added up the costs of fighting the coronavirus and sent the bill to their government for reimbursement... Okay, the Czech Republic clearly won't do that because it has a wonderful relationship with China, but countries like the US or Italy very well might...
