From tomorrow on you can see art dolls, puppets and collectible teddy bears in the Lucerna Palace. The international exhibition Dolls Prague, which will take place from 8th to 10th November, will start its sixth year. Sixty artists from 40 countries around the world will showcase their unique works of art in one place so you can remind yourself of your childhood or escape from everyday worries for a while and attend a workshop where you will learn how to make vintage dolls.
“Life is just a coincidence, once you go up and then down,” so this slogan will be the main theme of this year's exhibition, which will primarily reflect the era of the First Republic. No wonder that the venue of the exhibition is the Lucerna Palace, which thanks to its architecture and history will tune the visitors into the right atmosphere.
“Lucerna is the best place where art dolls can present and evoke to the visitors their specific connection with design. Art dolls are a beautiful decoration with its own character,”
Just like last year, this festival will not omit the absolute professionals in the field, for whose works collectors around the world sometimes wait for years. This year's prominent names include Marlaine Verhelst, Ana Salvador, Conie Lowe, Annadan and Elmira Abbasy.
“What is worth seeing is definitely the art exhibition of Studio 14 Stars from Estonia and Mrs. Lepichina from Kazakhstan. Both Studio 14 Stars and Kazakhstan's exposition are always a big surprise for us. This is a highly professional work of art that becomes an unforgettable experience,”
But not only foreign artists will be exhibiting here. Czech puppeteers, whose puppets are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, will also be able to praise their talents in Lucerna. This year's patron of the exhibition is Bára Štěpánová, who collects dolls and likes them.
In addition to the exhibition, you can also look forward to many accompanying events, such as special workshops, where not only children but also adults can learn to make teddy bears, dolls or find out what animation involves. Last but not least, you will be able to buy individual works of art at the exhibition and please your loved ones for Christmas.
