It looks like an open book placed in a public space, the only difference being that everything is in a larger than life size. The impression is enhanced by slats in natural color, which evoke pages of a book.

Looking from a certain angle, you'll discover that it actually has a triangular shape and there's plenty of space in it. The overall size of the building is 1500 m2. It's all just an optical illusion. The tip of the wedge in its rear side is linked to the local school.

What purpose does it serve?
Thanks to its location in the center of Tingbjerg, the library constitues a common meeting place that acts as a magnet and attracts people to the area. They're invited to engage in countless activities and events in multifunctional rooms, including a variety of courses, workshops, lectures and music performances. Moreover, one can observe the hustle and bustle on the streets during all activities inside the building through the glass facades, so the visitors won't miss anything.

The architects have done an extraordinary job
This luxury art building is the work of Danish architectural studio Cobe. In addition to the abovementioned library, these architects are also behind the creation of the new headquarters of the sports brand Adidas in the German city of Herzogenaurach, which bears the name Halftime. Its opening took place only recently, at the end of 2019. The 15 500m2 single-storey building boasts a diamond shape and features a truly remarkable roof. The unusually high ceiling is made up of a concrete structure that consists of smaller squares covered with photovoltaic panels. The finished construction serves the employees, brand ambassadors, customers as well as visitors. You'll find here offices, meeting rooms, restaurants, a café and even a swimming pool.
