Big plans. Will this interesting project revive the Czech car market?

Czech Republic is not far behind in the flood of new concepts of modern sports cars. These pieces aren't produced in our country very often, however, which makes an occasion when a team of constructors, designers and other professionals face such a difficult challenge a rarity. Performance Solutions, a company focusing on race cars and special vehicles, rose up to the challenge. The new luxury car is to be called the Mosquito.

Why Mosquito? An expression loaded with history

The Mosquito car alludes to the famous De Havilland DH 98 Mosquito, a British fighter aircraft that proved to be a great success during World War II. It was a tough nut to crack for Luftwaffe fighters, which could hardly ever catch up with it thanks to its high speed. It was also appreciated for its lightweight design.

How much do we know for sure at this point?

The Mosquito is supposed to have the weight of 974 kilograms and it should be made of carbon. An atmospherically filled eight-cylinder engine of American origin will be hidden under its hood. Its power will be around 600 hp, with a torque of 650 Nm. It could accelerate from 0 to 100 km in 2.9 seconds. You can expect a maximum speed of up to 320 km/h.

A strong, almost wild look

The exterior should mainly highlight the angular aerodynamics of the car. The aggressive body kit and the huge back wing, an essential part of a race car, catch the eye. The interior should carry in the spirit of minimalism.

The company expects to produce 18 pieces, with the idea in mind that each car may look a little different according to the customer's wishes. The price is not yet set, the estimate is about 30 million crowns. The Mosquito could be available as soon as in two years.
