Today brings a number of changes. All stores can open their doors to the public again, even on Sundays. However, the number of people inside shops is still limited. From today, you can also visit restaurants, which are allowed to be open from 6am to 10pm. As in the case of shops, the number of guests is limited to 50 percent capacity and a maximum of four guests can sit at one table.

Moreover, services such as hairdressers, pedicures and manicures are also open for business, as are some cultural attractions.

The night curfew has been lifted and alcohol can once again be consumed in public. Groups of up to 50 people can gather outside.

Former French president succumbed to Covid-19

Former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing has passed away. He was 94 years old. He was the leader of France between 1974 and 1981.

According to his family, he died of Covid-19. Already in September, he had been admitted in hospital due to respiratory problems, and he had ended up in hospital again in November.

Valéry Giscard d'Estaing was one of the key architects of European integration. Among other changes, he legalized abortions and allowed divorce by mutual agreement.

Russia is starting to vaccinate

Russia has previously become the first country in the world to approve a coronavirus vaccine, specifically Sputnik V. They even made it available for use in the population before the key third phase of clinical trials, garnering a wave of criticism from scientists.

Now President Vladimir Putin has ordered a vaccination campaign against coronavirus.

"Over two million doses have been produced, more will be produced in the next few days. The world's first registered coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, will reach this level of production. This will allow us - if not en masse - to vaccinate on a large scale."

Have you ever wondered how the US government works? How it really works? You will now be able to see it with your own eyes in a new series. Specifically in a sitcom on Netflix. It will be produced by Higher Ground, owned by former US President Barack Obama and his wife. Could anyone know more about the nooks and crannies of American politics?

The series will be loosely based on the bestseller The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis, which deals with the beginning of Trump's administration.

"He's going to try to show how the government really works, rather than focusing on one particular administration,"

Netflix commented on the series. Filming is set to begin early next year.

Argentine authorities have ordered a search of the home and office of the psychiatrist who treated football legend Diego Maradona. According to the investigator, the reason for the search was an investigation into a possible murder. No one has been charged yet, although several people are being investigated.

The idol of the football world died of cardiac arrest last week. However, the information that the Argentine authorities might be looking into a possible misconduct, or rather slow response of the rescue service, has been circulating for a while.
