The luxury Prague boutique of Karen Millen presented its SS 2018 collection and of course could not pass such an opportunity!
Already at the entrance we were awaited by a pleasant welcome drink and immediately followed the viewing of the luxury boutique. The fashion show presented feminine models, modern silhouettes and thoughtful designs. The relaxed style showcased luxurious sporty details in cream, navy blue, mustard yellow as well as forest green colour. The bold pink is a little less purple than a fuchsia blossom a colour which is really trendy this winter. This beautiful pink, spring and summer hue is combined with monochrome colours and patterns, such as dots.
Do you belong among lovers of fine-toned, neutral pieces in your wardrobe which you can combine with anything? Then look forward to the new collection of Karen Millen SS 2018, which offers unique fashion pieces in beige, white, but there is also little inspiration by safari, returning to the scene with a beautiful leopard pattern.
Clothing of the Karen Millen fashion label has always constituted primarily classic and stylish cocktail dresses for affordable prices. However, the new creative director has broadened its range and pointed out that this is not just a brand with evening clothing, but offers trendy pieces for the office or even the countryside.
Clothes that will never let you down, that´s Karen Millen. The materials and cuts are absolutely reliable and that is what we like the most. Elegant ladies will find suits in the current offer, which match beautifully; their lines are beautifully clean and they will be appreciated by any woman going from one meeting to another, who also expects comfort. But there will be something for every type of woman, there are various leather jackets, trench coats, trousers, skirts, dresses and tops, but of course also luxurious evening dresses that have always been the principal forte of this brand. This is where the bold and unconcealed femininity really comes to its own.
The SS 2018 Karen Millen collection seems to me like a mix of Zara and Mango in a kind of more luxurious version. The overall impression is mixed, because one part of the models is very stylish indeed and the second is kind of trying to "move with the times" / "be youthful". Ultimately the outcome is "sheep dressed as lamb".
One of the most obvious examples here is a model wearing a longer dress with blue leopard print, a black leather jacket and black high-heeled ankle boots. Even the model seems bulky so how will women with a (mere) size 38 and higher look like? I can tell you: like a whale!
But no to be too critical!!! I must praise commend the black semi-formal figure-hugging dress with finely ruching on the shoulders and delicate neckline. It has a literally perfect cut that simply must suit every woman. And in addition it visually slims her down! And I always take that as a nice bonus. Sunday brunch in Midtown Grill in Nové Město would be an ideal choice to wear it. (After all a child can make a stain on my dress and no one will be able to see anything!)
