The show was dominated by a digital wall, featuring the It´s Okay To Cry video by Sophie, specially adapted for the occasion. Occasionally one's eyes would slide to the background during thr show, but Louis Vuitton's luxurious models full of colors and interesting patterns quickly brought your attention back to the catwalk.
In creating the new collection, Louis Vuitton's creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, drew inspiration from Belle Époque, the so-called carefree and beautiful period, and went back in time by more than a century. The luxurious models were therefore decorated with characteristic symbols of the era such as puffed shirt sleeves or luxury jacquard adorned with flowers.
What we really like from the new collection are definitely the A-skirts and wrap skirts, which will guarantee you flawless curves. They are perfectly feminine, beautiful and simply WOW! No matter if you bet on leather, jacquard or another material, they all have the green light.
Although the SS2020 is a nice retro show, even this collection has a piece that isn't wearable for any conceivable occasion. Wait, that's not true - you could wear it to bed. But would you be willing to spend tens of thousands of crowns for your grandfather's nightgown? I don't think so…
Louis Vuitton also introduced four new models of handbags during the fashion show, all of which will be available to buy in the 2020 spring and summer season. Perhaps the most successful and funny piece is the pochette entitled The Video Tape Clutch in the shape of a cassette recorder.
Let's move on to the next three new pieces: the Dauphine Mini decorated with flowers, a logo and a gold chain, the Vanity Monogram in the shape of a suitcase with the typical Louis Vuitton monogram and an elegant, timeless black piece not only for businesswomen, Blade.
I knew I shouldn't have thrown out all the rags my grandmother bequeathed to me on her deathbed, along with the old mangy dog. Louis Vuitton's new collection gave us a hint of the coming spring and summer will be marked by the motto "back to the past". I don't get why there's been no response yet from those two loudmouths from the radio station where you can hardly hear anything else than commercials, Mareš and Hezucký.
I love pants with a high waist, they form your belly pretty nicely, so it doesn't matter if you're a bit overweight. Of course, provided you're size 40 at maximum, upwards of 40, not even a compression belt will save you. You'll simply look like a pig. But here it looks really good, plus the pants are pretty wide. By squeezing you tight just below your breasts, the model helps create a wasp-waist, which is what us women want.
And those fitted blazers and vests? Fabulous! Wide bottoms and tight tops, that's what turns ladies into sexy vixen. I can say the same about A-skirts and dresses. If you don't have a well-defined body shape, these are the best.
Some of these dresses are a little too colorful and wild for my taste, but maybe that's just how I feel about them now that I'm pulling black turtlenecks, scarves and hats out of the closet. Maybe I'll look at it from a different perspective when the sun and heat have returned. Then again, I'll probably never want to look like a green frog. Not even in six months.
Hats are inherent to spring, but these white things... they remind me of the helmets worn by workers on construction sites to meet health and safety standards. It's a good thing to protect your head from the sun, but we're not in England...
White looks great on a tanned sexy body, but sorry. This is a NO! The skirt is alright, I always enjoyed wraparound skirts, because when I put on a bit of weight, I could always fix the skirt to fit me. But the white fluffy top? Aside from the fact that my AA-cups would completely disappear in it, I don't want to imagine myself during the 30-minute lunch break. No restaurant offers large enough bibs.
I don't like them. I mean, I do like purses, but note those from Vuitton. Why? Everyone and their mother are wearing them in Karlín and Libeň. It's a crying shame how many replicas are there in the world and few people can recognize the original, so I would never buy a Vuitton handbag. However, I must admit I only noticed one typical "fakeable" piece. Otherwise, they are original and very imaginative - girls from Libeň might not even recognize them as a Vuitton. I might even break my piggy bank for the cassette bag...
