The concept represents a sport yacht which is designed for recreational day cruising and which can comfortably fit a crew of up to eight on board. The aim of the concept is to explore application of the Lexus brand in the maritime sector.
The design development centre in the Japanese Toyota City was commissioned with designing a yacht for 6 to 8 people powered by powerful Lexus V8 units. This was a one-off product with no ambitions at mass production. It was a very attractive project for the developers which of course resulted in creation of a luxury product.
The unique body of the yacht is manufactured from material called CFRP, which is short for carbon-fibre reinforced plastic. This concerns technology which is for example used during design of racing cars. The yacht is powered by 2 five-litre petrol engines and can reach a speed of up to 79 km/h.
You will find a touch-screen panel in the cockpit by the helm displaying GPS data, digital maps and information from the radar which maps the situation above the waves. The captain’s seat is electronically adjustable and if you fold out the armrests, 2 jump seats are created at the sides.
You will also find true luxury in the passenger cabin: unique leather with wood and glass details. There is seating for 6 people, a table and of course air-conditioning. The yacht also has a galley and luxury toilet and shower.
The Italian VideoWorks studio designed the integrated audio-visual entertainment system and Revolution Acoustic speakers ensure a unique sound. The yacht is 12.7 metres in length and has a maximum width of 3.86 metres.
Although you won’t be sailing out to sea with this yacht, it is possible that it is the first small glimpse of things soon to come.
