Kim Jones bids farewell to Louis Vuitton alongside Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss
Kim Jones, creative director of Louis Vuitton, introduced his last F/W 2018 collection. After a long seven years, he is leaving the luxury fashion house and opted for a grand finale. He welcomed legendary supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss on the catwalk!

Talented and successful fashion designer Kim Jones is leaving his position of creative director at Louis Vuitton after seven years. He opted for an unconventional concept to introduce his last luxurious F/W 2018 collection, and at the end of the show brought forth legendary beauties Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. The supermodels wore shiny coats with the monogram, and it must be noted that these stunners don’t seem to age!
The popular designer was inspired by the landscapes of Kenya and the Wyoming rodeo
Kim Jones loves travelling, nature and animals, and all these elements inspired him when creating the luxurious F/W 2018 collection. The exotic and striking patterns which appear on the luxurious articles were developed based on his own aerial landscape photos taken in Kenya. Another source of inspiration for Kim Jones was the rodeo in Wyoming.
Louis Vuitton greenlights bright colours
The Fall/Winter collection boasts a spirit of eccentricity and creativity. There are not just delicate and basic shades of nude, black and grey, but also bright colours like orange, yellow or metallic silver. Kim Jones displayed his creativity particularly in his accessories and used the patchwork technique to create extravagant men’s leggings. The collection also features bags, hats, caps and luxury shoes with the Louis Vuitton logo.
And where is Kim Jones headed after leaving Louis Vuitton? This is not quite certain yet, although rumours have appeared suggesting Versace or Burberry. So let’s wait to see where fate takes this talented designer.

Indiana Jones vs. Louis Vuitton
The last show by Kim Jones must have been based on the concept “Indiana Jones finds his way to Louis Vuitton!” How else can one explain the load of genuine adventurer style and tramp in one? Mind you, this isn’t derision, but admiration. I like how flexible LV can be, and that luxury can even be applied to outdoor.
Nevertheless, what most appealed to me were the classic men’s coats, the brown leather jacket with pink flowers or the black sheepskin maxi jacket. In short, fashion suitable for the everyday urban bustle. But the handbags, which the male models wore over their shoulders like little girls in 9th grade – I would never put that in my husband’s hand and over his shoulder!
I perceived Naomi and Kate in monogramed coats at the end of the show as a sort of farewell joke. Because my first thought was the infamous garbage bins sprayed with the LV logo. Honestly, this stuff is suitable at best for teenagers or people longing for others to know what brand they were… A big no from me.
