The latest collection by Isabel Marant comes across as a little chaotic to me. On the one hand you do fall in love with quite a few of the items at first sight, but then it all gets a bit confused as if the wearer had slapped together at least fifty different fashion brands and put them all on at the same time!
A brown windcheater in combination with a frilly miniskirt? Grey oversized overalls with a baggy jacket that looks like it has come straight from the Salvation Army skip? My god, in which universe would any woman voluntarily wear that to work or to go for a coffee at the weekend? I can tell you straight away: NO woman ever would!
On the other hand, what I do like about the collection is the cream oversized sweater with the black miniskirt with refined decorations, the short black cotton dress with the burgundy crocodile handbag and also the white blouse with the blue-striped skirt reminiscent of a relaxing holiday in Greece. The rest could only really be used individually for regular wear (weekends, school, work or meetings), which is on the other hand a major plus point.
