Philippe Starck

Have you ever wondered how the world's most respected designers live? We will guide you through the luxurious living of the world-class designer Philippe Starck. Are you expecting pomposity, luxury and creativity? You'll find all that and more! Let's step into his world together.

Interest in ecology is ingrained in his DNA.

The French designer wanted an ecological house that would not only be suitable for his family, but also "serve" the planet itself. As he says, he has always been driven by environmental goals. He never forgot the memory of his accidental encounter with an American ecologist on the island of Formentera, where his family lived for a short time, when he was still a teenager. Already back then, fifty years ago, he realized that his direction, mindset, and sense of ecology were encoded in his DNA.

His house, which represents a modern way of life, is located on the outskirts of Paris in the Montfort residence. It is one of the prototypes of a house called PATH. Starck's vision of a real house developed over a period of five years, when he first began working with the Slovenian engineering and manufacturing company Riko. Four different types of residences are associated with the name PATH, which stands for prefabricated accessible technology houses - with a total of 34 different floor plans. They are designed to consume as little as one third of the energy of a traditional house.

What makes the house so special?

Definitely its facade, which is made of glass and aluminum. The two-storey home stretches over the area of 350 m2. At first glance, you will definitely be fascinated by its roof. It features a raised ledge that conceals a small "factory" - solar panels. Another big plus is the lining. The inner walls are covered with spruce lining, a material that produces little waste during production. You'll also notice small but effective perks such as mirrors installed on wardrobes with sliding doors in the interior of the house, which saves space. Of course, Starck's home is equipped with furniture and lighting that he designed throughout his career.

Do you feel inspired by his luxury living?
