However, the Czech Republic is dealing with a shortage of face masks and the government is being criticized for this lack of protective gear. Many famous people have therefore decided to take this situation into their own hands - literally. At the time of the state-ordered quarantine, stars went to their sewing machines. The actresses Aňa Geislerová and Jana Plodková didn't have a photo at the sewing machine to share, but they are doing their best to motivate others not to be ashamed of wearing face masks.
"This spring's make-up will be a lot about the eyes. Friends, people... let's protect each other. The time of face masks has come,"
Actress and host Iva Pazderková recently celebrated her 40th birthday. Despite the fact that she couldn't welcome this anniversary in style, at a party and surrounded by her friends, she definitely didn't give in to despair. On the contrary.
"Today, I celebrate my 40th with joy, because we suddenly find it natural that we should help each other, support each other and be considerate. Because all at once, all of us are in the same boat. Let's memorize the empathy training level pandemic, because this, the way we're treating each other now, is how it should be! This is the truth. This is the love! And it's s an empirical verification of the fact that this is the only proper, functional way of living. So when we're finally able to breathe freely again, let's not forget it. I love you. Take care of yourselves, respect and love each other. P.S. I'm sewing, and once I've made enough for my loved once, I'll let you know and I'll distribute the rest among you, in the Beroun region and Prague-West."
Likewise, actress Hana Vagnerová responded to the current coronavirus-induced situation in a similar manner. She surprised her fans with a pretty funny video in which she's dancing while putting her face mask on.
"Be considerate of others and wear a face mask. That's the most important thing you can do these days. If you don't have one, try to make it yourselves or wear a scarf over your face. We can handle this and overcome it. I love you,"
