Not long ago, the luxury brand Gucci faced accusations of racism. That however, didn‘t stop it from further experimentation.

The creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, will continue pushing boundaries no matter what. Not even a recent allegation of racism stemming from an inappropriately designed sweater Balaclava will stop him. The designer, however, didn‘t attempt to run from the problem, but faced it head on at the Milan Fashion Week, and accepted all responsibility.

‚It has to be used to create something new, and it will help us to do things in a new way.‘

Will the FW 19/20 collection be more fortunate in that respect? Join us in viewing the show consisting of luxury curiosities, which the lover of extravagance had prepared for you.

Only for the chosen few

In order to successfully wear the new FW 19/20 collection, you need to have the necessary courage and the craving to step into the crowd, because it isn‘t for everyone. Thanks to the extravagant masks it will help you to change into whoever you want to be.

The frightening Jason Vorheese steps on stage

Alessandro Michele had prepared the look of a frightening Jason Vorheese from the horror Friday 13th, a sensual cat woman who dabbles in fetish, a cool beach dude, a dangerous New York type, a chic businesswoman, or an unbridled party girl.

Gucci‘s message

The masks have the task to reveal, or on the contrary hide who we are, and salvage kindness and beauty, which reside in us. We‘re wondering, how much inner good is hidden inside the fictional character Jason Vorheese, but we weren‘t happy about it…

Jared Leto sat in the front row

Gucci overall presented 87 outfits, which it bolstered up on its uniqueness. The individual outfits are fraught with luxury and lavish decorations in the form of bold patterns, embroidery or metal appliques. The singer, Jared Leto, also didn‘t miss out on the show, and sat on the front row to support Alessandro Michele, who is a long-standing friend of his.

Looks, that were last worn by my Math teacher!

The new Gucci FW 19/20 collection by Alessandro Michele as if mentioned almost all my favourite movies. First, we have the grey topcoat like the one that appeared in the Czech film ‚Vrať se do hrobu’ (Go Back to Your Grave), then there was a red-black overcoat with a huge fox around the neck and super hat decorated by a visor cap, for me embodying my favourite film ‘The Great Gatsby’, and finally the imitation of the then mega sexy vampire Tom Cruise from the film ‘Interview with the Vampire’. You don’t see that every day!

My feelings are making me heady, and are taking me on a rollercoaster, but surprisingly I’m enjoying the chaos. Does it contain anything that is possible to wear in real life? I think, that definitely yes, because my former highschool Maths teacher unwittingly wore this ‘futuristic’ look years ago. A colourful rhombus checkered knit sweater outfit with white stockings? Right, this always was a great match (hahaha)! Only a shame, she didn’t have a cat mask.

In conclusion, I’d only like to add: Let’s not look like the narrow-minded Math teeachers from high school. Amen!
