Geneva: European Car of the Year 2019 is Jaguar I-Pace
A gripping finale until the last moment Until the last moment, it wasn‘t clear who the winner is going to be. 7 finalists were contesting to be the best: Alpine A110, Citroën C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Jaguar I-Pace, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz class A, and Peugeot 508. In the end, the winner is the car Jaguar I-Pace, which was followed closely by the entirely different model Alpine A110.
‘The victory of the electric Jaguar is maybe a surprise, but the neck to neck competition with Alpine in second place shows that this year’s contest was governed by emotion.’ said one of the sitting jury of the contest, Jiří Duchoň.
60 motorsport journalists from 23 different countries voted for the best European car of the year (Car of the Year, COTY). The cars were assessed in the categories, technical innovation, design, power and price to quality ratio.
Introducing the beautiful Jaguar I-Pace
The Jaguar I-Pace is an electric SUV, there is a 400 Hp motor under the hood. Torque is 700 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km is in 4.8 seconds. It will reliably transport you to a distance of 480 km. The quick battery charge mode will save you a lot of time as 80% of the battery will be charged in 45 minutes. When charging the battery at home, the battery is fully charged in approximately 10 hours. The interior is spacious, luxury and modern, and is equipped by two touch screens installed one above the other.
We’ll point out another feature: When you put the back support of the back seat down, you will get a storage capacity of the trunk of up to 1.453 litres, which is commendable. If you’re planning to purchase the car in standard version, prepare a little over 2.000.000 Kč.
