At Rašín´s Embankment 46 you can find a unique late Art Nouveau house, built in 1911 according to a design by architect Miroslav Buriánek. Originally on this site there stood a baroque swimming and spa house called U Kněžourků but it was demolished in the course of rebuilding the Podskalí district.
At first sight this Art Nouveau jewel reveals that living here is associated with luxurious comfort and easy reach of all sorts of amenities. You are welcomed by a portal with two high columns in the shape of standing Atlants, with heads under their feet. They support wide, noble balconies, which are adorned by decorations in the form of leaves. In the house there is a total of 6 floors, balconies are to be found on the 1st and 3rd floors.
The façade is decorated by frescoes and geometrical ornaments. There are well-preserved artistic elements which decorate the building not only from outside, but also its interior. In the entrance area of the staircase you can admire on the walls as well as the ceiling a rich stucco decoration.
The luxurious house is a cultural monument and the apartments offer exclusive housing. Here you will find a spacious luxury maisonette with a large terrace which may be entered from all bedrooms. The rooms oriented to the courtyard offer complete peace and what is often the much desired quiet in the city centre.
Beautiful rooms, high ceilings, plenty of light thanks to the tall atelier-style windows - and those views! Below you there is the Vltava River and the house offers beautiful views of the Petřín Hill and Prague Castle. In addition, this location provides excellent connection to anywhere in Prague.
