Exclusive Concert: Accordion Prodigy Richard Galliano to Play at the Strings of Autumn Festival on 31 October
If you were to think that the accordion does not belong in jazz and classical music, accordionist Richard Galliano will surely convince you otherwise. He’ll be performing in Rudolfinum, Prague, on 31 October within the Strings of Autumn Festival.
This year’s Strings of Autumn Festival is already promising an unforgettable musical experience. Indeed, Prague will be enriched by the sounds of musical prodigies from all over the world until 9 November. And on the last evening of October, at 20:00, Rudolfinum will be bathed in the unique sound of the accordion.
Richard Galliano is a leading accordionist from Cannes whose history with this instrument dates back to when he was only four. He had a unique teacher – his own father, who originated from Italy.
He studied in the Nice conservatory but in the end settled in Paris, where he worked with the artistic orchestra and important names from the world of music, including Brigitte Fontaine, Charles Aznavour and Enrico Rava.
An exclusive concert in Rudolfinum with the Baborák Ensemble
In Rudolfinum, he will be performing together with Radek Baborák, a leading Czech hornist and winner of a number of musical competitions. Radek Baborák was a solo performer of the Czech Philharmonic and created his own luxurious ensemble, the so-called Baborák Ensemble. And this ensemble will be accompanying the aforementioned French master of the accordion.
