Roberto Cavalli, jointly with Paul Surrig, who is the creative director of Cavalli, created 11 soccer balls. Each is hand-produced by Italian craftsmen in the Roberto Cavalli fashion house.
Footballs by designer Roberto Cavalli are made, what else, from luxury materials, including genuine leather or exotic python leather. Individual balls are covered by very daring graphic prints that mimic smooth snake skin, luxurious leopard or refined cheetah fur. All patterns are reminiscent of wild fauna. If that tells you something, you are on the right track. In fact, these types of soccer balls reflect the Cavalli SS19 collection.
There is a noble plan behind the creation of footballs. They were produced for the project Pitti Immagine Uomo 94 "Fanatic Feelings - Fashion Plays Football" whose curators are Marcus Ebner and Francesco Bonami. The footballs were presented on 12. - 15. June 2018.
An unknown number of soccer balls from the 11 series will be sold to flagships such as Milan, Rome, Paris, London and Berlin to celebrate FIFA World Cup 2018. The rest will be sold through a specialised pop-up store. The proceeds will be donated to the company "Together To Go ONLUS". The Milan-based foundation supports children´s free rehabilitation programme, in order to recover from lesions of the central nervous system. A luxurious idea which we certainly approve.
Who would not wish to kick these luxurious soccer balls around?
