Cartier Carat represents a flower full of life, explosion of pleasure and freshness of molecules of joy charged with crystalline energy. Seven colours of the rainbow (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red) are represented by seven floral notes (violet, hyacinth, ylang ylang, narcissus, tulip, honey suckle and lily). Put together they create a completely new scent, as unique, such as the diamond itself…
Behind the luxurious perfume, Carat, stands French parfumer, Mathilde Laurent, who joined Cartier in 2005. Before that she had worked at Guerlain, for long eleven years under successful perfumer, Jean-Paul Guerlain.
Mathilde Laurent aimed for a perfume that would be as intensive and bright as a diamond, for which purpose she decided to take advantage of the laws of physics and diffraction of colours.
The luxurious flask is inspired by the universal and decorative Art Deco style. The flask diffracts the prism colours and mirrors their reflection in the glass square-cut surfaces.
