The British fashion designer is bidding farewell to luxurious fashion house Burberry after a long seventeen years. Whoever expected this farewell to be dark and dreary must be shocked by the FW 2018/19 collection, which is full of bright rainbow colours!
Cara Delavingne has been closely associated with Burberry for some time, which is why few were surprised when considerable attention at the London fashion show was focused on her. She closed the show in a luxurious rainbow-coloured coat, which was lined with the typical Burberry characteristic – brown plaid. She also headed the procession of models who strode down the catwalk once more at the end of the show.
Rainbow aspects embellish both the clothing and accessories. They are featured on coats, sports vests, ponchos, tops, but also on hats, stylish sneakers and handbags. Burberry created luxurious clutches and canvas shopping bags or autumn.
The luxurious collection breathes a touch of the 90s and features oversized elements and crazy colours. What’s more, Christopher Bailey played with styles and materials, allowing you to see how unconventional a combination of tulle and wool can look.
It wouldn’t be Burberry if the collection didn’t feature the ever so typical brown plaid. It embellishes baseball caps with traditional and unconventional clear visors, overalls, light jackets and luxurious clutches.
And who is to replace creative director Christopher Bailey? We will have to wait a while to find out!
A rainbow collection or live broadcast from the Pride parade? I don’t really understand why Bailey is bidding farewell to his creative position at Burberry with this rather wild collection. To be honest, there really isn’t a single piece here that I, or any other normal person, would choose to wear out in public (or even at home!).
Cara’s face was also a huge disappointment. She looked like a smiling junkie in some sort of crazy colourful coat. Not to mention her hairdo, which looks like something prisoners used to wear for punishment.
So if ever anything from Burberry, then definitely their classics, which I wouldn’t allow to be ruined by rainbows. Whatever the case, I doubt these items ever made it to the Prague boutique in Pařížská Street. Thankfully…
