Marc Jacobs did not disappoint us once again and presented an incredible fashion show. This was not accompanied by any music because the clothes spoke for themselves. We saw not only incredible and stylish fashion designs, but also the exposed bodies of famous models.
Each season brings with it great expectations and this is precisely what also happened at the fashion show of the popular fashion designer Marc Jacobs. But he didn’t disappoint his loyal fans this time either and demonstrated his creativity. The gigantic oversized blazers, jackets and coats certainly caught the eye of everyone in the audience with their varied colours. Not to mention the luxurious and extravagant headscarves which adorned all of the models.
The show was embellished with flawless models such as Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and also the charming Kaia Gerber. But you wouldn’t have recognised a single one of them wrapped up in their scarves. On the catwalk, Kendall wore a see-through roll-neck which exposed her breasts and above all her nipples. On the other hand, the other models were clothed almost from head to toe.
The show was presented by the beautiful faces of famous and unknown models and was not accompanied by any music at all, only the sound of creaking floorboards in the breath-taking Park Avenue Armory. All of this lent the luxury show a unique and luxurious atmosphere which allowed room for all of the beautiful models to stand out and above all the clothes they were wearing.
The whole show was dominated by oversized clothing in a myriad of colours, large bum-bags, luxurious combinations of colours, materials and large patterns. Dresses with a belt and ruffling, long sequined skirts, suits, oversize sports jackets, overalls and headscarves in a myriad of versions and colours.
The large flowers which adorned the dresses, coats and scarves were another magnificent and interesting detail. The flowers lent the clothing a certain panache and uniqueness. But that is not all. Our attention was also grabbed by tassels in a myriad of colours which were part of the outfits, but also constituted a large detail on shoes.
Marc Jacobs and his show in the style of a “Great flight of fancy to the Nth DEGREE”! I know that it is mainly about art, but the show disappointed me even as a mere member of the audience. Oversized everything in sight, hallucinogenic patterns ... I started to get a bit of a headache. Unfortunately for me, the overall impression was not even saved by the presence of contemporary supermodels. Even Gigi Hadid looked bizarre wearing a huge checked suit.
Where to wear this collection? At most for a trip in a time machine which will take you back to 1990, because I can’t think of anywhere else. But so as to not sound so pessimistic, in this panoply of bizarre items, I quite liked the canary yellow evening dress with dangling crystals, giant flower and long black gloves: these, on the other hand, I love!
