One of the rainiest seasons in Britain was beneficial not only for the beautiful gardens full of magical flowers, but also for the new collection by Alexander McQueen, created by designer Sarah Burton.
Are you lacking inspiration for a new collection? Go to London and visit the luxurious Great Dixter garden, which is sure to give you several ideas. This is exactly what the fashion house’s designer did, taking countless photos from the beautiful location which filled the entire fashion studio.
Gazebos roofed in with luxuriously embroidered flowers and a brick floor. Models with loose hair, flat shows and seating arrangements inspired by luxurious rural flower patches: The entire “House Style” show exuded an incredibly British culture and charmed all the viewers a the Chatsworth House.
If you love unique items with a touch of luxury, then this is precisely what you will find in the new SS 2018 collection. Quilted asymmetric and classic coats, dresses inspired by the beauty of flowers, depicted on them along with romantic elements with delicate ruffles. These are precisely the basic elements embellishing the fashion collection.
However, there are also bolder colours among the decent shades, which extravagant women will love. The red dress is sexy, seductive and original due to the unusual combination of materials and patterns. The pairing of leather and studs looks exceptional and will grab your attention at first glance. There are also flower motifs and other interesting patterns.
A surprising and unique combination is chequered materials with khaki leather. This pairing is genius and very new to the fashion world. Every woman will succumb and long to own it. If you like clean lines, you will love the white collection, which is anything but classic and dull.
Fashion from the McQueen brand is in general not really my cup of tea. But I said to myself that I would cast aside my prejudices and have a look at the new collection in as objective a manner as possible. It is unusual for me, but I did find a couple of items which I could imagine wearing! One of these is most definitely the beige dress embroidered with roses, the black suit with a jacket which is reminiscent of a frilly skirt, and also with no hesitation, the light pink dress from the end of the show. It is so distinctive and original that it brought me to my knees with those falling flowers. I would wear that dress straight away, for example to have dinner at Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary.
However, I would not have chosen the hairstyle and makeup I saw during the show even as a joke! Surely nobody on this planet wants to voluntarily look like the drenched Samara from that famous horror film The Ring.
