The work of eclectic artist Diego Cusano is definitely unique. He completes the luxury drawings with unconventional elements such as food, kitchen mugs, coffee, irons, sharpeners, crayons and even tampons or condoms!
The Master of Visual Arts and Graphic Design began to turn his passion into a successful business in 2013. It was at that time that he introduced a unique collage technique combining pencil drawing with still life, illustrations and graphics.
Two years later, he published the book "Food Art & Fantasy", which is made of 35 illustrations. It opened the door for him and helped to establish a luxurious cooperation with major clients such as Warner Bros., Dior, Cartier, Diesel or Haribo.
Diego Cusano's work is playful, entertaining and portrays moments of sparkling happiness. It is also often inspired by famous personalities. His luxurious drawings include Amy Winehouse with a cat on her head, Marilyn Monroe in the legendary white dress made of a sponge, Aretha Franklin with steel wool hair, Frida Kahlo with liquorice and Coco Chanel with ice cream on her head or Audrey Hepburn with lemon sunglasses.
"Every time I get up in the morning, I'm looking for an object and thinking how to represent it in my own way, beyond reality and its limitations." - Diego Cusano
The beauty of his work is that he gives each object a new life. A bun turns into a turtle, a condom into an umbrella, a plaster into a sexy mini dress and intertwined carrots into a seductive female behind. The purpose of his work is to create smiles on the faces of other people, and he really does. Would you think without Diego Cusano, how great Coco Chanel can look with a sweet ice cream hat on her head? We sincerely doubt that!
