The Creative Director Olivier Rousteing introduced the new collection which reveals his view of Paris. It is French, chic and seriously sexy. We can find there inspiration from the 60s and 80s and the precision of the French army.
Original designs revealing the body, light materials and earthy colours such as khaki, brown, orange and black constitute the main theme of the luxury collection. Translucent materials come across as fresh and original. The collection also includes interesting layering and sexy long slits in long dresses.
The new collection by Balmain is simple and you most certainly won’t find any decorations or embroidery there. But this luxury brand has been famous for simplicity and its classic lines since the period between 1993 and 2002 when it was headed by the famous fashion designer with a great eye for detail, Oscar de la Renta.
The journey of the luxury brand Balmain into the limelight
The man behind creation of the brand is Pierre Balmain, who grew up in a family where fashion and style were guaranteed a place. His father did business with textiles and his mother and sister owned a fashion boutique where Pierre helped out after the death of his father. It was1921 and little Pierre was only seven years old.
Pierre Balmain attended school at École des Beaux-Art, where he planned to study architecture. But instead of studying, he spent his time designing clothes. It basically started to become clear which direction his future life would take.
He has also made millions of men and women all over the world extremely happy. Many of them have established a truly emotional attachment to the Balmain brand, the first collection of which saw the light of day in 1945. And even today, when the important fashion designer and founder of the brand is no longer with us, it is not difficult to succumb to the charm of the unique designs, amazing fragrances or high quality hair cosmetics of the Balmain brand.
