A lot of viewers young and old could be a little disappointed that there will be no continuation of the luxury fairy tale “Angel of the Lord” on the silver screen this year. “Angel of the Lord 2”, a fairy tale which was a big hit last year was more successful among audiences than “Cosy Dens” or Titanic. But the reason for Christmas is not for us to be sad, so a new fairy tale will be making an appearance in cinemas on 7th December. We can look forward to “Wish for the Taking”.
But don’t expect a conventional fairy tale full of princesses, dragons and gallant princes. “Wish for the Taking” is a luxurious family Christmas film spiced up with humour and supernatural goings-on. Take a comfortable seat in the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle and look forward to a fairy-tale story in which a magical fantasy world is connected with the real world. Instead of a goldfish offering to grant three wishes, in this fairy tale, you will meet a magical grandfather who can also make wishes come true: but he only grants one wish per person. What will it be? Be careful what you wish for!
According to the trailer, it looks like an easy-going and interestingly shot film. You can look forward to the great Martin Myšička and the charming Jitka Čvančarová who play the parents of the hero of our tale, the young Albert. The film also stars the one-and-only Simona Babčáková and the popular actor Vítězslav Jandák. So there will certainly be no lack of luxuriously played roles.
The director is Vít Karas who for example directed the fairy tale “Kitty Mama” or the television series Captain Exner.
