You can also get a rare insight into the development of a new generation of the legendary test jet airplane, L-39 and the production of aerostructures for companies such as Airbus, Embraer or Sikorsky. Laser maze and House of Nano-horror
The biggest presentation with 20 luxurious stands at the Science Fair will be set up by the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It will offer playful physics with fire and ice, a laser maze and House of Nan-horror to bring you closer to the beauty of nano-world. Using virtual reality you can have a look 100 meters below the ground at the detector ATLAS in CERN in Geneva or into the halls of the strongest lasers in the world in ELI Beamlines and the HiLASE centre. A luxurious experience, don't you think?
Another notable attraction is without a doubt a virtual tour of the workplace of chemist Antonín Holý. Yes, you will be able to walk through the work place in which a remedy against HIV was created and also explore the equipment of one of the smallest laboratories designated for the examination and measurement of substances by drops and molecules.
How noticeable is the Czech imprint in scientific missions of the European Space Agency and other space projects? Why do we need to have a “lightning conductor” on Mars and who examines black holes in active galactic nuclei? You will be able to ask these questions and together with leading experts search for answers in a panel discussion at the Science Fair.
The already fourth fair of science and technology is participated upon not only by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, but also universities, businesses and other scientific institutions. They will all let the visitors to gain an insight into their current research. Some stalls will remind you of improvised laboratories, others will provide special exhibits. The science fair will also bring panel discussions with leading Czech scientists and experts or a ´career day´.
The event, organised and backed by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic will be held at PVA EXPO Prague Letňany.
