Another reason why one might decide to have a coffee is its stimulating effects. After you drink coffee, the caffeine is absorbed into your bloodstream, from where it travels to the brain. Although it doesn't exactly supply one with energy, it prevents the brain from entering the so-called standby mode, which is why people mostly drink it when they need to feel less tired or more productive.

One of the other benefits of coffee is that it actually makes you feel happier! Caffeine promotes the release of the hormone serotonin, which affects the mood. It's not known as the "hormone of happiness and good mood" for nothing. But the list of beneficial effects of coffee doesn't end there!
