The American actor excelled in the film Bohemian Rhapsody in role of famous singer Freddie Mercury. He won the Golden Globe award for best leading role acting performance. However, he eluded many prior to this, despite having led a successful career in acting a number of years already. He isn’t a household name here yet. This is also due to the fact that he shies away from interviews and he’d rather live in anonymity.
Rami Malek also steers away from social networks and isn’t active even on his Facebook profile. He’d rather get to know stories of other people, than to speak about himself.

He was born in 1981 in Los Angeles, California to Egyptian parents as a twin. He has a brother, who is 4 minutes younger. He studied acting at Evansville University and received a Bachelor degree in Art.

He became famous as an actor in TV series. The Czech audience may be familiar with him from the TV series Gilmore Girls. He also played the vampire Benjamin in the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part 2. He excelled in the American TV series Mr. Robot in the role of Eliot. In 2006 he was cast in a role in the film Night at the museum and he played in the two other following sequels as well.
He had a stint in the theatre, but he remained loyal to TV series. In the miniseries The Pacific, he met the producer Tom Hanks, who noticed his talent and cast him in the film Larry Crowne, 2011, in which he acted in the role of a student.
He guards his private life carefully, probably to avoid tabloid speculations. He himself confirmed his relationship with co-actress from Bohemian Rhapsody, Lucy Boynton at the festival in Palm Springs last year.
