To start with, I would like to mention how terribly happy I am that finally I can write about equestrian fashion as such! I could not wish for a better première than here in the "Fashion against the Current". Since I am a horsewoman, horse rider body and soul, I view the selected brands from a really professional point of view. So draw it all in, as much as possible (hahaha).
The absolute tip in both practicality and design is definitely the brand of Hermès! If only for the reason that as the only one of these three brands (of which we are talking) it actually started selling horse tethers for French nobility and notable French families ever since 1837. And this collection for 2018 is also absolutely perfect! A truly functional pair of jodhpurs, jumping or dressage jackets, riding boots, or simply the functional jackets and jackets for riding in the field. In the past I was fortunate enough to have a pair of jodhpurs (price tag CZK 20,000) and they were absolutely perfect and lasted for years! They can be also purchased in Pařížská Street... What is more, if you wear riding clothes by Hermès, you will have the same comfort in the saddle as many Olympic riders!
Then there are Ralph Lauren and La Martina. These two brands I threw together this time round. Because in neither of the collections can we find a truly functional pair of jodhpurs with a reinforced seat and generally speaking, these are more like fashionable T-shirts with a logo of a horse, but on the other hand they will fit perfectly and not hinder your movement. Moreover, La Martina surprised me by its functional footwear, gloves and a helmet. But unfortunately, these pieces basically are only for polo riders and there really is only a minority of them here.
