The unique new publication, Design in the Czech lands 1900-2000, is published by Academia publishing house in co-edition with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The book contains 20 chapters and approximately 950 accompanying photographs of items from more than 100 Czech and foreign collections and archives.

Overview of institutions from the 20th century
At the end of this luxuriously elaborated book, the reader will find brief information about more than 300 design institutions which operated in our country during the 20th century. This for example includes the Artěl Association, the unique Cubist production of the Prague Artistic Workshops or the activity of the Union of Czechoslovak Creative Work from the time of the First Republic.
A large group of authors and several photographers cooperated on this luxury book. The text of the publication was created on the basis of institutional support for scientific research financed by the Czech Government and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. It is the result of many years of research by a broad group of museum curators, university teachers, students and postgraduate students.
