Aeruion AS2

Supersonic Aerion AS2 has gained a strong partner. The Boeing company joined the supersonic transport aircraft project. They made a so far unspecified investment, which, according to considerable expectations, will speed up the development, production and flight tests of the airplane and propell the field of supersonic air transport back to the top.

As the American giant Boeing says in his slogan: "We are closer to supersonic flying than you think".

However, we will have to wait until 2023. Aerion's developers in cooperation with Boeing are planning their first flight across the Atlantic at supersonic speed before the end of 2023.

What will the brand new luxury aircraft Aerion A2 offer?

The luxury vehicle is designed to allow efficient flight both over water and above ground and will, of course, comply with all aviation regulations. Its interior should make you feel like in clover. Is the A2 going to become a symbol of business tourism? Let's have a look at its features and specifications.

The AS2 will be powered by GE Aviation's GE Affinity engines. Its length should be 52 meters; the deck will be able to hold 8-11 passengers, not counting the planned crew of two. The maximum take-off weight is 60.3 tons. Regarding the distance the airplane will be able to travel, it depends on the speed. It should have a range of 7800 km. And it's going to be flying at a "lightning speed"! Or close to it - namely 1 725 km/h above sea and 1 163 km/h above ground. To give you a better idea, it is faster than the speed of sound by 40% and faster than most of the current commercial aircrafts by 70%.

On-board comfort

Two companies participated in the development of the luxury aircraft: Lockheed Martin and Honeywell. Honeywell will act as a supplier of the "revolutionary" cabin design and cabin systems. The ultra-modern cabin space will feature large seating areas including sofas, a kitchen and ample space for taking a walk.
