The Prague 1 Representation Ball in the luxurious hall in Žofín crowned the Prague ball season. This year it was in the spirit of the First Republic.
"This year is an anniversary. Not because the ball itself has a jubilee, but because our country, our Republic, will be one hundred years old in a few months. Let's celebrate its birthday in advance and enjoy it well. Mr. President The Liberator would definitely approve of it." Oldřich Lomecký, mayor of Prague 1, said.
Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers were invited to emphasize the atmosphere of the First Republic.
The Czech anthem was sung by Marketa Fassati, and other artists who performed at the ball were the band Slza, Václav Noid Bárta and Jitka Boho. The cymbalos band Kuštárovci from Bratislava arrived, and Wolfgang Metzner, the mayor of Bavarian Bamberg, also accepted the invitation and sang German chansons accompanied by pianist Martin Stübinger.
A delicious banquet was also prepared according to luxurious First Republic recipes.
There was a raffle at the ball, the proceeds of which will go to the EU Army Center of RAF marshal Karel Janoušek.
"The money will be used as part of the celebrations of the 73rd anniversary of the return of Czechoslovak RAF pilots to their homeland and, at the same time, celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the RAF, as well as commemorating 100 years since the founding of our armed air force and, above all, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic," explained Oldřich Lomecký.
The luxurious ball was attended by many well-known celebrities, including Andrea Verešová, Michaela Dolinová, Jana Doležalová, Veronika Kašáková, Natali Ruden, Kristián Kodet or Michaela Nosková.
Former white house employee and special assistant to five US presidents, Eliška Hašková Coolidge, didn't miss out on the ball either.
The hosts of the evening were Leoš Mareš and Hanka Reinders Mašlíková. The second pair of presenters consisted of Kateřina Němcová and Alexandr Hemala. The luxurious ball definitely concluded this year's ball season in Prague and we are looking forward to next year!
