Inspiration by the iconic Grease stunned! Thanks to the perfect idea and generous dose of charisma the collection is magnetic, invoking nostalgia. Because who has not loved Grease? Well, anyone?!
Inspiration by the divine Grease stands behind the creation of the luxury SS Menswear 2018 collection. The gang of boy racers and girls' heartbreakers headed by Danny Zuko and his friends inspired the German designer Philipp Plein to create a dazzling collection.
Illegal car races were the starting point for the creation of the men's collection. The designer, whose own collection of luxury cars consists of a Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Range Rover, Audi and Lamborghini, explained why is it cars and Grease.
In the style of Grease, Philipp Plein adhered to traditional materials, such as leather, denim and cotton. He created trendy leather bombers and biker jackets, rebelliously ripped jeans, biker overalls or luxury printed t-shirts.
Some pieces have been decorated by a number of motifs - from cars, fiery flames, a tiger, a cobra, skull, up to the name of the brand itself. The German designer adorned several biker jackets by the provocative inscription "Come On Baby Light My Fire'.
What kind of Grease would it be if there were no cigarettes behind the ear or a packet in the hand, luxury sunglasses, stylish sneakers or chains and necklaces. All these seemingly negligible details have become what turned the charismatic models into Rock'n Roll rebels! At the end of the show the sexy Jeremy Meeks also appeared on the catwalk. In 2016 he was released from prison, aimed for catwalks and became a sought after model!
Philipp Plein simply has balls! Other words are absolutely unnecessary! I am absolutely astonished at where men´s fashion is heading, in which direction it is going, and how is it actually still developing!
There is finally someone in the market who is not afraid of a bit of the diamond sparkle and rebellion at the same time. Sequins on sweatpants, ripped dark jeans and undone checked shirts revealing almost the entire chest: such pieces in my opinion fit almost every man, allowing a certain transforming into a much more desirable being.
A provocative cigarette in the corner of the mouth shift the overall impression of the models even further. Unfortunately for smokers, the manner of a provocative entry into a bar with a wink at the ladies around is currently taboo. But why not simply breach the ban? We women sometimes like the look of a rebel more than that of a Mr Nice Guy! And where would you go with a man dressed like this? I would most likely envisage the James Dean club, because that is the very rapacious place you are looking for!
