His real name is Alexandre Farto and he is an artist who uses bas-relief technique, which has been recognized as one of the most impressive in the field of street art. In addition to sprays, he uses chisels, hammers, drills, acid and plastic explosives. The material he uses comes from the street - old facades, the remnants of posters, etc.

Make the invisible visible

This is the motto of his work. And in exactly this spirit the original bottle of famous Hennessy luxury whiskey was created. Do you feel the energy of this unique design? Trust us, it is not only on the surface but also hidden inside, in the taste of luxury cognac!

What, according to Vhils, do his art and cognac production have in common?

"After visiting the Cognac factory, I understand that there are interconnecting points between my creation and the production of cognac. They include, for example, waiting for time to do its job. I work with materials that take time to form and with procedures that cannot be sped up. The process of making cognac is very similar – it takes a lot of time for eaux-de-vie to mature, and it happens under the hands of many people."

Vhils is not unknown for graffiti and street art fans. He first drew attention to himself in 2008 when he exhibited at the London festival Cans alongside the famous Street Art artist Banksy. After completing his studies in Fine Arts, he opened his own studio. His works are now exhibited all over the world. How did he work with the design for Hennessy?

"It was a challenge, and very interesting."

"My aim was to create a design that would reflect both the cognac as well as the bottle with its shape. First I did a few tests and sketches and then I created five designs using four different techniques. Then I checked how they went together with the bottle. In the end, the most suitable were poster paper and acid painting," says the artist.

The result is a textured area in dominant black and dark yellow to evoke the mature cognac. All this on the backdrop of the remnants of old Hennessy posters combined with brand symbols such as the grapevine, totem, and three stars that, according to the original classification, correspond to VS cognac.

The luxurious Hennessy Very Special in the limited edition from Vhils is available on the Czech market from 899 CZK.
