The film festival in Karlovy Vary is primarily about films, but the accompanying programs are often attended by models, singers and athletes.

The Olympic afternoon at the MALL.cz Park hosted several Czech sports stars, including tennis player Radek Štěpánek, snowboarder Eva Samková and kayaker Vávra Hradílek.

Several hours full of autographs, interviews and photo shoots. Eva Samková admitted that she came only for one day, and at least took a stroll along the colonnade, but didn’t manage to see any films.

“I watch series at home. I am currently into Friends. There isn’t much time for films, not even privately. Apart from that, I like listening to Hurvínek before bed,” the snowboarder admitted.

Radek Štěpánek, who followed in the footsteps of his father onto the tennis court, spent one night in Karlovy Vary, but was in a hurry to get home.

“I have to return to my wife. We are expecting a child very soon, and I want to spend as much time as I can with her,” the tennis player explained.

Canoeist Vávra Hradílek has the closest ties to cinema. Two years ago, he actually shot the film Tenkrát v ráji (Once Upon a Time in Paradise).

“It was a great experience for me. I really enjoyed it. But the truth is I want to devote myself more to sports than film,” he admitted.
